...Whether you work from home, in a large office or even out of a hotel room, Office Ergonomic Solutions is designed for you. We'll help you prevent and manage computer related injuries through free ergonomic tips, product reviews and cost effective equipment selection.

Very simply, ergonomics is the science of designing work tools (your desk, chair, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.) and the work environment to fit the physical capabilities of people. Office ergonomics focuses on these issues in the office environment.

Office furniture and equipment design is important because we are all made differently.

We have different arm lengths for accessing the keyboard, mouse and other documents on your desk. We have different leg and trunk lengths that vary the correct seat and desk height needed for each person.

The photo example below shows the arm of a 6' tall male next to the arm of a 5'5" tall female. Notice the difference in arm length, hand width and finger length.

These physical differences are why one desk size does not fit everyone. Nor does one keyboard style, mouse type, monitor height or one chair.

Knowing the true ergonomic features of office equipment and how to use it can help you select the right equipment the first time. With a little knowledge in office ergonomics, you can avoid buying the same piece of equipment more than once!
